Thank you for covering this! I have been trying to fuse same-sex and LGBTQ+ rights to ballroom for so long and it's nice to see this wonderful change. I believe it's going to give space to more ideas and imagery to showcase the beauty and skill of dancesport to all types of audiences. The spectators are going to have fun with it. And it's not a situation of NOW YOU HAVE TO BE SAME SEX COUPLED. it's just inclusive and it's nice to dance with all of our friends same-sex or otherwise! <3

My dance partner is from China and was taught to dance with physical (stick) discipline when she was a child, she is 60 years old and is forever great full to her teachers as she still has perfect technique.

As a person who is in psychology/child development/addiction rehabilitation counseling, that's right even addiction, I can tell you is that you are sadly mistaken. It is not a secret and study after study demonstrates horrendous potentialities of beating children. When the child is hit instead of having a normal conversation with them and instead of actually teaching them something, you end up causing a neurological change. neurological changes which lead to different negative effects, on a spectrum, however a child that is hit is many times over more likely to develop aggression later in live, as well as suffer lower learning abilities and finally in worst case scenarios they even develop addictions (drugs alcohol etc.) Also, please stop calling it spanking as if changes the concept, it is a beating not spanking. When you "spank" you do so in order to cause pain, the level of pain from an adult to a child mind you. All in all it is called physical abuse and had damn nothing to do with culture. Quit the damn cultural relativism already and find other methods other than abusing children.

Вопрос действительно к большим умам, стоит ли смешивать исполнителей. Моё мнение, что для начала стоит организовать параллельно тог же уровня соревнования, чтобы на одном турнире были и same sex категория и привычные нам. Это позволит людям привыкнуть к подобному явлению и сформировать мнения.

Very nice! The whole routine is remarkably similar to warmup routines in Japanese Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu schools (and its softer sibling Aikido). Very effective whole body warmup.

The part where the PROFESSIONAL lowers his music, and APOLOGIES! YES! THIS! I practice capoeira and I have no problem sharing an open gym classroom with other fellow non-traditional 😉 gym members. However, I have had so many of my workouts ruined by dancers who selfishly BLAST their music on the class sound system. I wish the loud ‘amateurs’ could learn to be courteous.

I hate those ppl who don’t understand especially some Americans that don’t even understand dance or other cultures. My friend did ballet in Russia and this is understandable and acceptable. It’s tough, it pushes her and she’s one of the best. Especially when she has to do stretching, she screams bloody murder but it’s just a reactionary

Firstly, I think if this becomes a common international practice, it could be the end of dance sport in Russia. Since we have a law prohibiting LGBT propaganda among minors. Unfortunately, society is not always tolerant. Secondly, if there are mixed competitions, it seems to me there will always be a doubt whether the same-sex couple won because they are better, or because the judges were afraid that they would be accused of non-tolerance. Sorry for my English.
